What are the problems people suffer from behind closed doors?
Everyone has suffered from an embarrassing medical problem at some point in their life, probably during their teenage years when the last thing you want to do is tell your parents or a doctor about what is happening to you. There have even been television series dedicated to these shameful medical problems, in an effort to help us realise that there is nothing these doctors haven’t seen before and we should not be embarrassed about seeking medical help if it will make our lives better.
Sometimes what is embarrassing to one person is perfectly normal to another, for example perhaps a female snorer would be more likely to see a doctor about a snoring treatment than a man? After all, men are often proud of their snoring and other bodily functions, whereas more delicate women may well want to stop snoring if possible. Some of the most embarrassing problems that people suffer from in silence are ironically not actually that silent. Snoring isn’t so bad, as it usually happens in the privacy of your own home, but other people find they can’t stop burping or passing wind, often at completely inappropriate times. This is easily treated in many cases at The Private Clinic and your GP will probably not even bat an eyelid when you explain the problem.
Sexual problems are often the most embarrassing to discuss with your doctor, especially one of the opposite sex. Snoring would probably be welcomed by men and women who are having other, more personal problems in the bedroom. While it may be terrifying to imagine sitting down and discussing these problems with anyone, you have to remember that a doctor is trained to look at the human body almost in the way a mechanic looks at a car and, of course, they are forbidden from discussing their patients’ problems with anyone else, so your secret is safe with them. Whether you want to stop snoring or have a personal problem that is affecting your physical, mental or emotional health, a doctor is the best person to talk to. No matter how embarrassed you may feel.
