A Facelift Minus the Surgery
Nowadays, it’s becoming a much easier task to reclaiming your lost youth through the popular “Fountain of Youth” trend without having to resort to surgery. For many years, in order for a person to retain their youthful appearance a surgical procedure such as a face lift would be involved, which would also include a lengthy healing period.
However, with an increase in innovative technologies and non-invasive procedures, it has become an easy feat at achieving quick results in a person’s appearance in a relatively short amount of time. The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery released statistics in 2008 that found since 1997 nonsurgical procedures had increased by as much as 233 percent, with a steady increase in the number each year.

Some of these non-invasive cosmetic procedures include laser treatment and heat based treatments, which offer convenience, affordability and ease to individuals. On top of that they provide an ideal attraction to people who don’t want to undergo a surgical procedure such as a facelift that would otherwise require a long recovery period.
Laser treatments are seeing a large number of plastic surgeons specializing in this area, which is also known as fractional resurfacing. Fractional resurfacing means that only a small area is treated by the laser which targets specific skin cells that are damaged so that new skin cells can form, thus renewing collagen and elasticity.
This form of treatment also allows for a quick recovery time as the body is only re-growing small areas compared to focusing on re-growing large areas at once.
Heat based treatments, one that is known as Thermage, is a procedure that operates by renewing the collagen in skin cells which helps to produce subtle and natural results. In order to achieve these results it utilizes a radiofrequency technology which consequently aids by tightening the existing collagen, in addition to forming new collagen to create a facelift that shows tighter and smoother skin.
